The curtains were hung in the nursery with care…
…in hopes that a baby soon will be there. Well everyone, it is Week 37. While I have not been productive on my blog, you should see the nursery. It is almost finished and it has become an almost magical place. We have accomplished a lot in the past couple weeks. The painting is done, the carpet has been steam-cleaned, the dressers are assembled and drawers are starting to fill up. The curtains are up and our antique cabinet is quietly holding baby’s first books. The rocker was ordered today and should be here by the end of the month. The crib will be delivered on March 3rd – the delivery people even build it for us! The clothes and bedding and blankets have all been washed and put away. I went through all of the beautiful gifts we have received so far and everything is gradually finding a place. I was able to find the musical mobile that matches our bedding set and I found an embroidered Peter Rabbit diaper stacker that is really cute. The main body of it is made with blue gingham which just happens to match the lining of the baskets I bought today at Joann Fabrics.  I went out today and bought our travel system (stroller) – dubbed by Uncle Mike as the BTV – Baby Terrain Vehicle! Bryan calls it the Hummer. I also stopped at Whole Foods and got the GDiaper Starter Kit. If you haven’t checked out GDiapers yet, go to www.gdiapers.com. Now that I’ve seen them, I can’t wait to try them out! I think that is about everything that we’ve done lately. I will post pictures of the nursery after the 3rd – we should have everything done by then! The baby’s name has also been chosen although we are keeping it a secret because we feel the baby should be the first to hear its name.
My checkups continue to go well. I am now going to the doctor every week. The baby is in a good position and the heart rate is strong and healthy. My vitals have stayed in the normal range as well. We finished our classes at the birth center and now it’s just a matter of practicing the relaxation techniques. I met with a potential pediatrician last Monday and on this Monday, Bryan and I are going to a New Parent Meeting at a pediatrician office. We should have that decision made by Tuesday. This week’s goal is to pack The Bag. I have 8 working days left before my maternity leave begins on March 1. I am happy to say I am still fairly comfortable and thankfully the baby seems to be sleeping or quietly entertaining itself while I am sleeping at night. We have had our moments, though, when we disagree about where feet can and cannot go (i.e., ribcage). As baby grows, it is getting easier to see it move, which really freaks out Bryan! Imagine a cat in a pillowcase. It is so hard to believe that we are so close to finally meeting this new little person!
aww its so exciting!
